Our kids got to go to one of their favorite places last Monday – Skateland!
It took awhile to figure out how to stay upright on their skates, but they kept at it and improved as the evening progressed.
Some needed a little extra help and it was heartwarming to see our volunteers come alongside the kids to support (literally) and cheer them on as their confidence grew. It was especially encouraging to see some of our older kids stepping up to help the younger ones learn. In many ways, skating really is a team sport where everyone wins if they work together. Last Monday night, our team won!
