RHK Volunteers are the Best!

This is Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we want you to know our RHK volunteers are first-rate!
Our volunteers are selfless. Rain or shine, some after very, very long days, they come with a smile, arms to hug, and a heart willing to love some of the hardest to love. They give selflessly to ensure kids at RHK feel loved and welcomed.
Our volunteers have their own concerns and struggles – family, kids, elderly parents, health issues, etc. – but none of that matters for the three hours they spend with the kids. Our kids’ lives, needs, and wants are on the hearts and minds of our volunteers. They put the kids first and make them a priority.
Our volunteers bring the children to Jesus – into the knowledge and presence of Him, as in Luke 18:16 (NIV):
“But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.'”
The kids at RHK need people standing the gap for them. They need mentors to be their cheerleaders and to bring them hope when they feel hopeless. Our volunteers are there for them.
We appreciate the love our volunteers show our kids each week and their commitment to the mission of RHK. They participate in the ministry of presence every time they walk through the doors. A familiar, welcoming face is half the battle for a child who needs to know they are special, unique, and a gift from God.
Our volunteers give from their hearts to our kids, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
“Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
