Rock House Kids is celebrating 25 years of ministry to Rockford’s inner-city kids in 2024!Our kitchen servers are the best!
Even early on in our ministry, making sure our kids are fed has been a high priority. When kids attend our evening program, they know they will always have a hot, filling meal. For some kids, the first thing they do when they come into the caferteria is run up to the serving counter to say hi to the kitchen volunteers and ask “What are we having tonight?” We love the way these volunteers interact with the kids and show they care.
The volunteers who help in the kitchen take care of serving the food and cleaning up after, so our program staff and volunteer mentors can stay focused on the kids. This is such a blessing!
Some, like the gentlemen in this photo, continue to serve on a regular basis and we couldn’t be more thankful.
We are currently in need of more volunteers to help serve our evening meals. Are you are available one evening a month (or more) for an hour and half or so?
