ROCK HOUSE KIDS RECEIVES PASSENGER VAN
Rockford, IL-Rock House Kids, a safe house for kids ages 6-18, received a 2016 Chevy Express 15 passenger van generously donated in February through the collaboration of Alpine Kiwanis Charities and Kiwanis Club of Rockford. Alpine Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis Club of Rockford are local volunteer based organizations that are dedicated to improving the world one child, one community at a time.
Collaboration between these two not-for-profit organizations made it possible to create a solution to a transportation problem Rock House Kids had been faced with for a very long time. “The generosity of these two great local civic groups has made a huge impact on our effort to reach children in our community that we couldn’t help before”, stated Dee Lacny, Executive Director of Rock House Kids. “Now that we have an additional vehicle, we can bring more children to our facility that were not able to attend due to lack of transportation. Many children cannot walk to our facility on their own or some live in danger sections of town and do not have any other means of transportation. We are truly grateful.”
