Volunteer Spotlight - Stephanie Washington

My name is Stephanie, and I was born and raised in Rockford, IL. I’ve been married for 10 years and am the proud mom of a 9-year-old daughter. I work in a local pediatric clinic, where I have the privilege of helping vulnerable children. In February, I began volunteering at Rock House Kids (RHK) and have no plans of stopping. The joy and laughter of my spirited tween girls keep me coming back every Monday night.

My journey with RHK began last January during an event night when I had the chance to tour the facility with Mackenzie. That experience left a lasting impression, and I knew right away I wanted to get involved. Their work for kids facing the greatest challenges in our community truly touched me. There’s nothing more rewarding than the hugs and smiles from the resilient kids I meet week after week.

I volunteer at Rock House Kids because I believe every child deserves to be loved and supported and have a safe, trustworthy person in their life. If you’re looking to make a meaningful impact, I encourage you to join the RHK volunteer team!
