Skate Night for Our RHK Solid Ground Kids

Last week, our Solid Ground Kids spent their Wednesday evening at Skateland - Rockford!

It took awhile for some of them to figure out how to stay upright, but they had a blast trying.

Skating is always one of our favorite field trips with the kids. Yes, it is a lot of fun. But, it is also a time when we see how the kids really take care of each other. Our older kids, and those who already know how to skate help the ones who are younger, or more unsure of themselves.

We also couldn't do this without our fantastic volunteers who jump in to help.

They lace up skates, give confidence by holding the hand of a new skater as they make their way around the rink, and encourage the kids as they skate by showing off their new skills.
