Hello! Our names are Pete and Sue. We live in Sharon, WI. We have three married children and seven grandchildren, with whom we immensely enjoy spending time.
Our interest in RHK started with a visit with Dee (the Executive Director) to learn more about the work at RHK. The more we learned, the more we knew we had to get involved.
We started volunteering on Wednesdays two and a half years ago: Pete with the 5th & 6th-grade boys and Sue with the Pebbles (first and second grade). We now serve on Monday nights, Sue with the Pebbles and Pete with the 3rd-grade boys.
Our relationships with the kids, volunteers, and staff keep us coming back. God keeps revealing Himself as we grow and learn from working with and beside all of them. We are honored and humbled to work alongside the volunteers and staff at RHK.
For anyone considering volunteering, this is good work and worthy of your time. The seeds being sown may not bear fruit immediately, but they take root and grow over time. DO IT, or at least try it! It will stretch you in ways that you may not have imagined.
Why do we volunteer at RHK? To give back - “Live in Grace and Walk in Love.” God has made it clear that this is where He wants us right now.
