Cynthia just celebrated her 4th Anniversary as an employee with Rock House Kids. Congratulations Cynthia! As a Rock House Kids employee she wears many hats, but her main position by day is Storeroom Clerk Coordinator. After 3:00 PM her role changes dramatically, and she becomes a key player at evening programming. Cynthia makes sure that the meals are prepped and ready to be served before she changes hats again and takes off in a company vehicle to pick up kids at Concord. Throughout the evening Cynthia can be seen serving meals in the kitchen, singing songs in Chapel, and lovingly but sternly disciplining kids.
Cynthia is the perfect role model for Rock House Kids. Having been brought up in Concord, the 3rd of four children, raised by a single mom, she lived through many of the same struggles that our kids face today. Her goal on programming nights is to share a new way of looking at life. She feels empathy for this younger generation; the violence they live with, in and outside of their homes.
With her mom as her idol, Cynthia, also a single mom learned how to be strong and overcome adversity. She gives God the glory for giving her that strength, and does her best to pass it down to her children, Jamarius, 20 and Markyha, 18. One of Cynthia’s many favorite verses is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
