Where We Live

The Rock House Kids building is located in a depressed, crime-ridden part of town. Families struggle to survive, “ladies of the night” walk the streets at all times of the day, gang activity is rampant, and police and ambulance sirens fill the air. This is where many of the children we serve live and play. Rock House Kids is committed to breaking the cycle in which these children must survive each day. On our program nights, we help them with physical needs such as a hot meal and a take home bag of kid friendly food items. We  provide coats, hats, gloves, boots and blankets during the winter months, socks and flip flops in the warmer months, school supplies and back packs in the fall, and the list goes on and on.

We feel spiritual guidance is also very important, so we share with the children there is someone who truly loves them unconditionally and cares about their every need and concern – his name is Jesus. Each month our classroom leaders focus on moral character traits such as thankfulness in November, Christmas in December, love in February, etc. which helps encourage and strengthens them spiritually and emotionally.

We hope you too will see the need and want to be a part of the solution. Please call our office if you would like to volunteer or help out in any way at 815-962-5067. All gifts and donations are appreciated and go towards the effective programs of Rock House Kids. Rock House Kids is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
