The view from Seventh Street

The Rock House Kids building is located in a depressed, crime-ridden part of town. Families struggle to survive, and “ladies of the night” walk the streets at all times of the day. Gang activity is rampant, and police and ambulance sirens fill the air. This is where many of the children we serve live and play.

Rock House Kids is committed to breaking the cycle in which these children must survive each day. On program nights, we help them with physical needs such as a hot meal and a take home bag of kid-friendly food items. We provide warm outer wear and blankets during the winter months, socks and flip flops in the warmer months, and back packs filled with school supplies in the fall.

We also believe spiritual guidance is as important as the physical things we provide, so we teach the children about Jesus and how He loves them unconditionally, and cares about their every need and concern. Our classroom leaders stress the importance of positive moral character traits such as honesty, thankfulness, and love, helping to encourage and strengthen them spiritually and emotionally.

The Puppet Team entertains with their Christmas skit.

All of the kids gather in the cafeteria for a group lesson.
